Title: Intern candidate was hit by a hacker
Posted By: Jim Romenesko

From MAX HARTSHORNE, editor, GoNOMAD.com: I have been spoofed, and I am afraid I spoofed you and rest of the readers. I got a tearful phone call from prospective intern Christine saying that this is not the first time that this has happened. Somebody hacked into her Yahoo mail account, and replied to my e-mail unbeknowst to her. I have spoken with National Geographic and believe Christine.

By going back viewing the headers on the e-mail we were able to determine that the intern's e-mails rejecting her internship with us was a fraud. The e-mails have a nasty name as the listed recipient, in the from field, that somebody would never use as their own identifier.
