Title: Bianculli was writing about PBS, not NPR
Posted By: Jim Romenesko

From DORAN BARONS: While I don't disagree with Tim Graham's tacit suggestion [two letters down] that David Bianculli should have disclosed his ties with NPR, I also think it's important to remember that public broadcasting isn't a single organization. That is, Bianculli was writing about PBS, not NPR. His column doesn't mention radio and only talks about the effects of CPB funding cuts on television programs, not on NPR or public radio.

PBS is not NPR, and NPR isn't MPR or PRI. And none of them are Pacifica Radio (where I've been for 20+ years). Much of the coverage of the CPB situation tends to treat all of public broadcasting as a single entity. Those of us in public broadcasting know this is hardly the case, not even at the level of national networks.
