Guardian news app hits 100,000 downloads

The Guardian’s paid iPhone app has been downloaded more than 100,000 times in two months, generating more than $350,000 in sales. Downloads in the first month topped 70,000, prompting Guardian editor-in-chief Alan Rusbridger to comment that their early success with the app was “Not a transformative thing, but it is a signal that people are prepared to pay on mobile.”
