Laura McGann reports that Mark Fiore’s political cartoon app has officially been approved by Apple and is now available for sale in the App Store for 99 cents.
In December, Apple rejected the Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist’s “Newstoons” app, saying it violated the iPhone developer agreement because his satirical work “ridicules public figures.” Following reporting by the Nieman Journalism Lab and widespread media coverage, Apple invited Fiore to resubmit his app for approval.
