Verve CEO: publishers must pay attention to mobile

New England News Forum
Art Howe, CEO of Verve Wireless and a former journalist, said Thursday that newspaper publishers need to focus on how consumers are changing their reading habits and migrating to mobile devices such as phones and tablets.

Bill Densmore reports that Howe, speaking at the New England Newspaper & Press Association’s fall conference, said mobile “will be very shortly the No. 1 screen for news and advertising.” Howe added, “That’s shocking to some publishers.”

Verve Wireless is a partner with the Associated Press and provides white-label mobile apps for the wire service’s members.
