Thirteen winners of George Polk Awards for 2009 announced

New York Times reporter David Rohde, a previous Polk Award winner, receives this year’s foreign reporting award for “Held by the Taliban.” (Here are the other winners.) The Polk Awards, administered by Long Island University, honor special achievement in journalism and commemorate George Polk, a CBS correspondent murdered while covering the Greek civil war.
