Matt Waite tweeted this morning that Poynter’s “St. Pete Times terminated my remote employment this week” and “I’m overjoyed to announce I’ll be joining the faculty at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in the fall as a professor of journalism.” He was the Times’ senior news technologist and the principal developer of the Pulitzer-winning PolitiFact. || Derek Willis: “As former Times Publishing Co. employee, I think it’s shameful what happened.”
