Former Philadelphia Inquirer wine columnist Sam Hughes blasts Inquirer sportswriter T.J. Furman for encouraging Phillies fans to “get your D-cells ready” for Red Sox right fielder J.D. Drew‘s appearance. “Given that Drew could have been seriously injured by the cowardly thugs who threw batteries at him a dozen years ago … there’s nothing funny about it,” writes Hughes. (The Inquirer has scrubbed the D-cells reference.)
