Huffington Post passes NYT in Web visitors

Financial Post | Forbes.com
The Huffington Post had more unique visitors (35.6 million) than New York Times (33.6 million) — a first on comScore — in May. Washington Post had 19.9 million uniques; Los Angeles Times, 18.4 million; and Wall Street Journal, 13.9 million. (Business Insider has a chart.) || Jeff Bercovici: HuffPo victory requires a huge asterisk. || Here are the April and March comScore numbers.
> AOL exec tweets: “Six years to disrupt 100 years. nice work team huffpost!”

Correction: The headline on this post originally said HuffPo passed NYT in Web traffic; that may be true but it cannot be determined by the number of unique visitors, which is a separate metric.
