Smiley: I’m still waiting for a WH invite from Obama

C-SPANvideo.org
Broadcast journalist Tavis Smiley said in response to a question on C-SPAN’s “Washington Journal” this morning about President Obama: “He has not at this point come on my TV or radio programs one time since he’s been in this White House. This is the first president in my professional career that hasn’t invited me to the White House.”

Tavis Smiley has been attacking Obama since he announced he was running for President. He is not now, nor has he ever been an Obama supporter. The snide attacks on Obama aren’t new either. So he shouldn’t expect a Whitehouse invitation any time soon. Neither he or Cornel West are arbiters of anyone else’s blackness.

I’m still waiting for Tavis Smiley to talk about something other than himself and how he’s the put-upon victim of people who don’t pay enough attention to Tavis Smiley.

I’m still waiting on my invite, too.

Smiley must be one of those “professional” liberals.  What was that ex-WH Press Sec’s name that let that term slip out?

Maybe it’s because Obama figured out that Tavis has no viewers and no ratings and doesn’t matter. This guy has no influence on the news agenda. His self-proclaimed role as an important pundit is a myth.

He needs to quit whining about the White House and try find an audience that cares about what he has to say.

Short form: “Was it something I said?”

Why spend time and space on a sure thing?
