Texas editor on Perry: ‘What you’re seeing now is effectively who we’ve seen all these years’

Huffington Post
“He’s not dropping more g’s for effect. This is not a cowboy shtick he’s putting on display for a point of contrast against Romney,” says Texas Tribune editor-in-chief Evan Smith. Texas Observer executive editor Dave Mann adds:
“Even if the Bernanke line was a slip up, the Perry people won’t back down. They’re not going to apologize or show weakness. Of all the potentially controversial things [Texas Gov. Rick] Perry’s said and done over the years, I can remember only one real apology — when he said ‘Adios, Mofo’ to a Houston television reporter.” || Washington Post: Perry’s “facts” on climate change get a “Four Pinocchios” rating. || Earlier: Perry tries to stop reporters from following him on Twitter, and more stories from Romenesko’s archives.

Perry has no use for the MSM, and given the growing irrelevance of the MSM media he doesn’t have to talk to them; due to the record levels of distrust toward the MSM in our country today he can safely ignore them at little risk to his campaign.

The MSM has yet to understand that; they flatter themselves to think that they can influence this election in any way.

A telling clue:  when running for governor last year he purposely snubbed the editorial boards of every major newspaper in the state, understanding what a complete waste of time it would be for him and his staff.  Editorial endorsements don’t count for much anymore, and sure enough, he crushed his opponent, who had the endorsement of every major newspaper in the state save one.

FYI, as you might guess from the login name the guy uses, the above link is to a sketchy, nutty, predictable, horribly designed personal Web site. This entry calls out Perry for not being enough of a right-wing nut. What is it about right-wing Web people that they always make their sites (and their TV networks for that matter) as hideously garish, loud and ugly as can be? Is is it just to fit the overheated, subliterate rhetoric? The left-wing nuts do it, too — Daily Kos is pretty much unreadable — but not nearly as often or as reliably.
