    OK. I’ll answer for you. Because you’re vacuous and superficial. Because for you, style always trumps substance. Never mind that you’re creating more friction – more work for your readers, who now have to spend more time on each item to determine whether it holds interest for them. It’s “edgy.” Or whatever.

    No one who knows anything about The New York Times calls Arthur Sulzberger Jr. “Pinch.”  When I see that word, it’s a signal that the commentator knows not whereof he speaks. Yes, his father’s nickname was “Punch.” A sister was named Judy, if that explains anything.
