New Haven Independent editor: It’s a Golden Age for journalism

Yale Daily News
Diana Li and Christopher Peak compare the New Haven Register, the corporate-owned newspaper reinventing itself as “digital first,” and the New Haven Independent, the upstart nonprofit news site. Editors at the newspaper describe how they’re opening up the newsroom, hosting online chats, linking to blogs and asking for community input. “They’re doing everything we did, a few years after we started,” says Independent Editor Paul Bass. “It is a golden age in New Haven for journalism. Old media is finding new ways to do the job … It’s a great time to be a reporter. At least until the money runs out.” || Earlier: Layoffs at New Haven Register continue Journal Register’s outsourcing of printing operations (Poynter)

Your reply proves my point. You attacked FOX News just like any liberal. You admit you worked at 4 newspapers. You admit you are very liberal.

It does not take a conspiracy to have a liberal media.

Not one anchor is a conservative.
Not one Sunday Morning news show has a conservative anchor. Even FOX News has the liberal Chris Wallace.

JTFloore, you are just another dishonest liberal journalist. Par for the course/

George Stephanopllis ,a Democratic Party operative, IS the ABC “News” chief political go to guy.

FOX has half the country watching cable news because ALL the others are Liberal.

this is ludicrous. i worked at 4 newspapers in my career and not a single one of them asked anything about my political views. journalism is not organized enough to be invovled in some vast liberal conspiracy. i’d say faux noise, right-wing talk radio (the numerous limbaugh clones out there), the washington times, national review etc etc. have pretty big megaphones when it comes to reporting the “conservative” line.

Journalism is too corrupt. Democrats rule it and are only acting as loyalist to the liberal cause. NO conservatives need apply so I do not care what Democrats(journalist )have to say about anything anymore.

it’s a “great time to be a reporter” in new haven? oh?

so how many reporters does the new haven register have now compared to, say, 1990? (how many of the recently announced 105 layoffs will be reporters?) and how many reporters does the new haven independent have and what’s their pay scale? or are they all community bloggers who work for free?
