Dick Clark’s death at the age of 82 was front page news across America Thursday morning, from Philadelphia, where “American Bandstand” debuted in 1957, to California, where it ended its run in 1989. Archival photos of “America’s oldest teenager” expressed nostalgic wistfulness about Clark’s place in popular culture.
