Brad Hamm has been named the new dean of Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism, after 7 years as dean of Indiana University’s j-school; Hamm, a member of Poynter’s National Advisory Board, succeeds John Lavine, whose tenure as dean has been controversial since he took over in 2006.
