Press+: Average reader sees 11 articles before hitting paywall

Nearly 40 percent of Press+’s 300+ clients allow readers fewer than 10 free articles a month, the metered-paywall company says in a press release.

But even with the lowered meters publishers have seen no downside in results; across the range of Press+ Affiliates there has been no decline in digital advertising revenues and publishers have retained their voice in their communities.

MediaNews, GateHouse, Tribune and McClatchy use Press+ for their paywalls. Poynter uses Press+ to solicit donations from readers.
