Glocer becomes Thomson-Reuters CEO if $17.6B deal closes

Canadian publisher Thomson is in talks to buy Reuters to create the world’s biggest financial news and data company. Under the terms of the proposed deal, Reuters CEO Tom Glocer would become chief executive of a dual-listed group to be called Thomson-Reuters. The Thomson family, which owns 70% of the Toronto-based group, would own 53% of the combined firm.
