San Diego Union-Tribune owner in bidding for Boston Globe

Beverly Hills-based Platinum Equity, which bought the San Diego Union-Tribune in May, made a $35 million offer for the Globe last week. Its bid includes the assumption of $59 million in pension liabilities.
