Brill: “The NYT has trained my kids that it’s free”

Steve Brill tells AbovetheLaw.com founder David Lat: “The New York Times has now trained my kids that it’s free and the only way they have to pay for it is if they get it in the form that is their second favorite form, which is the paper. They have to go somewhere to get the paper, the paper’s not updated instantly, the paper doesn’t have any video. The New York Times has a fabulous website. …It’s a better product than the paper, so they do the only natural intelligent thing — they charge for the inferior product and give the better product away for free.”
