That photo brings to mind a brilliant Oscar Hammerstein lyric from “South Pacific:”

You’ve got to be taught before it’s too late,

Before you are six or seven or eight,

To hate all the people your relatives hate,

You’ve got to be carefully taught!

Awww. This photo breaks your heart. We need to teach our children that hatred from blacks towards whites is wrong, and hatred from whites toward blacks is wrong. I live in an area where my children and I have been targets of hatred from African-Americans, but we have many friends who are black who DON’T hate us because we are white, and I taught my kids from a very young age not to judge other races based on their treatment of us or their skin color. Racism is a TAUGHT sin. If you raise your children to plain ole like other people, hatred doesn’t happen based on race.
