Guardian’s Rusbridger: iPad may produce significant revenue for news / Reuters
Consumers reluctant to pay for content behind a Web paywall, may be more willing to purchase content on mobile devices says Guardian editor-in-chief Alan Rusbridger. The Guardian sold 70,000 copies of its iPhone app in the first month and told Reuters, “That’s not a transformative thing, but it is a signal that people are prepared to pay on mobile. It’s perfectly possible that the iPad, if we get the right functionality and design, could produce interesting, significant revenue streams.”
