Research firm pays for opinions of journalists on energy beat

PFC Opinion Research pays $250 to journalists who agree to spend 25 minutes opining about “certain aspects of oil and gas industries.” Stephen Ward, who heads the Center for Journalism Ethics at the University of Wisconsin, tells Paul Farhi: “If this doesn’t raise an ethical red flag, nothing will.”
