NYT, ProPublica explain their long-form journalism e-books

Times associate managing editor Jim Schachter says “Open Secrets” — a $5.99 Kindle e-book — gives the Times “another bite of the public’s attention for our outstanding work on this story.” ProPublica general manager Richard Tofel tells Damon Kiesow that “Pakistan and the Mumbai Attacks: The Untold Story” — sold for 99 cents as a Kindle Single — is part of a larger effort to find “interesting new ways for people to look at long-form journalism.”
