Auto critic Burgess returns to Detroit News

Detroit News
Scott Burgess withdrew his resignation after meeting with Detroit News editor and publisher Jon Wolman. “They apologized and I accepted it,” says the auto writer, who was assured that the paper would set policies for changing online stories “to make sure this would never happen again.” || Read the paper’s apology and see how it edited Burgess’ Chrysler 200 review.

I hope both parties have learned from this: the newspaper for for some serious reflection over its heavy handedness and kowtowing to an advertiser, and the hope that the reporter/columnist learned that sometimes subtlety is often much more effective than bombast.
