Media: Trump will endorse Gingrich — or is it Romney — today?

Everyone has a vote, and Donald Trump will tell the world in a few hours who will get his for the GOP presidential nomination. Speculation started Wednesday when he announced a news conference today. Very quickly, “sources” “confirmed” to journalists that Trump would endorse frontrunner Mitt Romney; “sources” also “confirmed” that he would endorse former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich. Here’s how it looks on Memeorandum:

The Las Vegas CBS affiliate KLAS is reporting that Trump will endorse Gingrich, as did Politico, while CNN is reporting he will back Romney.

Politico’s Maggie Haberman explains:

We reported, along with the New York Times and the Associated Press among others, last night that Donald Trump is expected to endorse Newt Gingrich, according to sources around his campaign. The Times went first with the news in terms of national outlets. … Matt Drudge, who has a relationship with top Romney officials, this morning – linking to our Gingrich story – was among the first to indicate it would be Romney.

According to The Washington Post, CNN was first to report it would be Romney.

This story demonstrates why journalists should not single source stories in their rush to be first.

Money follows Money and Trump will whore himself for ANY attention he can get.  The race is already a circus as it is!  Trump is a windbag and full of hot air… all that fuss and guffaw will drop like his blood pressure after a double-tap shotgun blast to the head.  Watch him get his and see if that hair is even real when the guns come out on the Zombie Walk of Fame at

Just in case you “wanted” to “know” which “post” finally “made” me take this site
off my “list” entirely, this would be the “one.” It’s now at a level of
inanity that doesn’t even rise to the level of car-wreck entertaining.
    It’s just sad.

Ditto. Who cares? What’s next? Will we be subjected to news on who Ryan Seacrest and Regis Filbin are endorsing next?

is it possible that anyone actually cares who trumpet will endorse? so why is “the media” making it sound like an  earth-shatterng event?
