Suzanne Somers hates Obamacare, verifying quotations

Actress, ThighMaster pitchwoman and author Suzanne Somers published a post on a Wall Street Journal blog called The Experts that called the Affordable Care Act “a Socialist Ponzi Scheme.” (It’s right there in the headline!)

Somers goes on to voice her strong objections to Obamacare by citing cautionary examples from the Canadian health care system. (Disclosure: I’m Canadian, and the delivery of our second child one month ago resulted in a bill of $0 for the procedure.)

To bolster her argument, Somers’ post originally included quotations attributed to famous people. They have since been been removed. I’ll let the correction added to her post explain:

An earlier version of this post contained a quotation attributed to Lenin (“Socialized medicine is the keystone to the arch of the socialist state”) that has been widely disputed. And it included a quotation attributed to Churchill (“Control your citizens’ health care and you control your citizens“) that the Journal has been unable to confirm.

Also, the cover of a Maclean’s magazine issue in 2008 showed a picture of a dog on an examining table with the headline “Your Dog Can Get Better Health Care Than You.” An earlier version of this post incorrectly said the photo showed and headline referred to a horse.

The Experts describes itself as “an exclusive group of industry, academic and cultural thought leaders who weigh in on the latest debates in The Journal Report.” Along with Somers, the roster of bloggers about retirement includes fellow ’80s luminaries Pat Sajak and Morgan Fairchild.

“. Lifetime maximums are no longer allowed.”

Right but WHO IS GOING TO PAY FOR IT you turd eating fool?

ALl the big unions and companies AND CONGRESS all ARE EXEMPT, who the F*CK d o you thin kid going to subsidize your lifetime mental health and drug addict treatment?

You’re a moron. No one was allowed to read the bill until after it was passed. When the Repubs finally saw what you morons grandfathered in regarding the loss of policies if they couldn’t match the BS coverage offered by obullcracare (I am 65, why the F*CK do I have to have a policy to cover maternity care, or for the abortions and drug addiction and sex change operations you demand?), the Repubs put a bill up to take that provision out, AND YOUR SKANK DEMS in the Senate voted PARTY LINE AGAINST.

You have sodomized America, enjoy it while you can, eventually we will crush you like the commie scum you are.

  • Les Legato

Yeah, its all fun and games now that TENS OF MILLIONS OF AMERICANS are having their poicies cancelled even though Obowmao said “if you like your plan you can keep it”.

Here’s what you can keep, you liberal bastards: the CANCER you all so richly deserve and that YOU won’t be able to get treated because YOU won’t be able to afford Øbullcrapcare.

Suzannne Sumers is an expert on her thigh master. Anything else she says is in concert with the Republican who say the President lied about people being able to keep their current health policies. I say the Republicans are a bunch of bald-faced liars!!!! It wasn’t the President who lied, it was the insurance companies who realized under the Affordable Care Act, they could no longer screw their customers! Being a woman was no longer going to be a pre-existing condition…pathetic!!!!!!!!! The insurance companies now have to spend a great deal more on their clients health care than on tooting their own horns or they have to refund a portion of the premiums. Children with pre-existing conditions can no longer be turned down for coverage or pay exorbitant premiums that cover very little. Lifetime maximums are no longer allowed. The Affordable Care Act requires coverage for maternity and newborn care which wasn’t covered before. Quit playing your high school games, and get to work you lazy, worthless, self-important jerks! And Suzanne, grow up. You’re not an expert on this program. If you don’t like the President, big deal.

You folks are arguing about her misquotes…..really? It was Suzanne Somers! What would you expect? And really who would use her for a selling point…..only someone very desperate.

  • BrotherMatthias

Apparently Mr. Silverman misses the point. The Maclean’s cover story actually did claim a dog could get better health care than a human, in Canada.

Suzanne Sumers joins a long list of accusing National Healthcare of being socialized medicine.
Over 65 years ago it was a Republican Senator from Ohio, Senator Robert Taft who was dead set against National Health Insurance proposed by President Truman. “I consider it socialism,” the reveredleader of the Republican Party on domestic affairs declared. “It is to my mind
the most socialistic measure this Congress has ever had before it.” Taft
suggested that Compulsory Health Insurance, came right out of the Soviet Constitution and walked out of the Congressional hearings.

In the chilly climate of the Cold War he and other Republican lawmakers
wanted to make sure that the US would not catch a bad case of socialized
    medicine. An illustrated look
