Kurtz: “Jennings’ passing does have an end-of-an-era feel”

Lawrence Grossman, a former president of NBC News and PBS, tells Howard Kurtz that picking Peter Jennings‘ successor is a tough job, “but not as tough as it used to be because it doesn’t seem to matter as much these days. Picking anchors is a complete matter of judgment and luck, just like picking television shows. It’s a crapshoot.”
