Convergence Journalism for College Educators (N301)

Colleges and universities are seeking ways to integrate the principles of convergence as they teach print, online, and broadcast journalism. In this seminar you will explore the best practices in the professional converged journalism world and share your school’s convergence plans and experiences. You will examine the specific skills students need to learn for working and succeeding in converged newsrooms. And you will learn how to bridge the cultural differences among print, broadcast, and online newsrooms. You will also think through the internal challenges that keep convergence efforts at your school from reaching full bloom.

Poynter is waiving tuition and pays for the hotel for journalism educators. A limited amount of financial assistance for travel is available and is based on need. Applicants must submit a letter from their dean or department head requesting travel assistance.
