Web + 10: The Future of Online Journalism (NWEB)

During the past decade, the Internet has changed journalism and journalists, forcing reporters, artists, photographers, editors, and publishers to discover the potential of online news. The hard lessons learned during the first 10 years of online journalism provide the foundations for developing a new form of journalism and a new type of information medium. This conference will be an opportunity for online editors, website managers, and front-line journalists to think about the continued evolution of online journalism. You’ll look at how the definitions of news and information are changing. You’ll explore how users navigate today's websites and how that might change with faster, ever-present access. You’ll examine trends that are shaping consumer behavior on the Web. And you’ll benefit from conversations with Poynter faculty, visiting faculty from leading websites, and, most of all, your seminar colleagues.
