See the future of news design as we unveil concepts for creating better connections among readers, advertisers and content.

In this daylong event on Jan. 27, you’ll hear from the international design experts who are developing new models for information display. Their ideas are based on the workshop conducted last October in New York. (Here's the link to the video replays of that event.)

Here's what you'll see:

  • Affordable immersive VR stories. With live examples by content creator, and a walk-through of the interface and practical examples from a team that is telling great stories with limited funding.
  • News, entertainment, shopping and community engagement experiences to reinvent a publisher’s relationship with its audience.
  • Hyper-personalized news feeds. This which can become a fully dedicated VR news experience, allowing the user to control and adjust content—and advertising.
  • An informational operating system for a city, with different types of products that are not necessarily bundled into a newspaper or traditional news site setting.

This groundbreaking four-month project is under the direction of Roger Black.

Study: People read more on sites with modern designs. They also remember more.

A new study from Engaging News Project found sites with contemporary design have a significant increase in pageviews over sites with a more traditional newspaper layout. That part of the study, released on Tuesday, isn't too surprising. But the study also found that people remembered more (50 percent) from the contemporary sites than they did from the traditional ones. Read More
