Headlines that accompany news of the detection of gravitational waves read like this: “Einstein Was Right: Gravity Ripples Across the Universe as Waves,” “Einstein’s right again: Scientists detect ripples in gravity,” and “Einstein was right: Gravity and government are powerful.”
