As a nonprofit working to improve journalism in service to democracies worldwide, the Poynter Institute is thrilled to host SABEW’s annual conference for the association of business journalists April 20-22, 2023 at its global headquarters in St. Petersburg, Florida.

This year’s conference, themed “Navigating beyond the pandemic,” will convene newsmakers, economists and top business journalists from around the country to discuss the state and future of business journalism in a post-pandemic world. Conversations will be centered on topics crucial to America’s ever-changing economy such as climate change, housing, tourism and policy.

Attendees will also:

  • Hear from some of the nation’s leading voices in economics, business and government
  • Celebrate SABEW’s Best in Business Award winners
  • Network with colleagues from diverse newsrooms and businesses across the U.S. on the beautiful beaches of Florida’s Gulf Coast

Guests will also have the opportunity to tap Poynter’s world-renowned expertise in journalism training and professional development, media ethics, fact-checking and media literacy as the home to the Craig Newmark Center for Ethics and Leadership, the Pulitzer Prize-winning PolitiFact, the Nobel Peace Award-nominated International Fact-Checking Network, and the digital media literacy initiative MediaWise.

Whether you are a newsroom leader, early/mid-career journalist, academic, student or PR professional, SABEW’s annual conference will inspire new ideas to elevate your journalism and propel your newsroom forward.
