News reporting internship
Deadline to apply: Sunday, October 31, 2021
Type: Web/online, Writing
Location: Lincoln, Neb.
Semester: Fall
Additional details: Reporting interns at the Journal Star apply journalism skills learned in the classroom to the real world. A typical day involves interviewing news sources, writing articles and working with an editor to develop stories. Interns work weekend and evening hours on general assignment stories and assist with coverage on the cops beat. Interns will leave the Journal Star with a robust portfolio and valuable newsroom experience. Our spring and fall internships are part time (10-18 hours/week), ideal for college students in Lincoln and the surrounding area. Our summer internships are full time (40 hours/week) and open to in-state and out-of-state students. This is a paid internship. The Journal Star typically hires the next year's interns every fall. For example, we will try to have all of our 2022 positions filled by November 2021. All of our 2021 positions are currently filled.
We are sorry. The deadline to apply for this internship has passed. Please check the other available internships.

Start your day informed and inspired.
