The Cedar Rapids Gazette will close its printing press.
Thirty four full-time and eight part-time employees will lose their jobs. The AP reports that The Gazette, Southeast Iowa Union, Washington Evening Journal, Mt. Pleasant News, Fairfield Ledger, PennySaver and The Shopper will be printed by Gannett in Des Moines. The Gazette is owned by Folience.

According to Axios, 18 of the previous 24 staff will be rehired.
