Fight the Infodemic
#VaccineFacts

Consider the source

Misinformation about the COVID-19 vaccines continues to spread across the internet. But, the truth is out there!

If you’re going to listen to people on the internet, it’s imperative that you verify their credentials to ensure the information you’re reading (and acting on) is legit.

But you don’t have to be a professional fact-checker to find accurate information about the vaccines on your own. Just start with a simple keyword search — try “COVID” + “vaccine” + “your city” — and open several results in multiple tabs. The trick is to read laterally across those tabs to get the scoop on vaccine distribution or issues in your town. Here are some more tips to help you find the facts:

  1. Check primary sources! This includes your state and county health department websites and the latest vaccine guidelines from the CDC.
  2. While national news like Associated Press and USA Today can give you in-depth reporting and analysis about many of your vaccine questions, your local newspaper or TV station will provide the most accurate information about your ability to get a COVID vaccine.
  3. Talk to your own doctor about concerns. They can provide individualized information for you considering your medical history and vaccine eligibility in your area.
  4. Read fact-checks from the CoronavirusFacts Alliance. Fact-checkers across the globe have published over 9,000 fact-checks about the coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic.
