Andrea Parquet-Taylor

News Director, KCBS/KCAL (LA)

Andrea Parquet-Taylor joined KCBS/KCAL in Los Angeles as news director in 2020.

Andrea formerly was news director for KTVT in 2017, and was quickly promoted to station manager. She worked her way up from producer to newsroom management, moving from medium market to major market TV.

She also worked at WNCN Raleigh-Durham, N.C., where she was news director since 2011. During her tenure, WNCN received multiple Best Newscast honors from the Associated Press of North and South Carolina and Best Newscast and Best Website awards from the Radio Television Digital News Association of the Carolinas. Under her leadership, WNCN was also honored with multiple regional Edward R. Murrow Awards, including the station’s first for Best Newscast.

Prior to her time at WNCN, Parquet-Taylor was assistant news director at KHOU Houston. She also previously served as news director at WXYZ Detroit, WRAL-WRAZ Raleigh-Durham, N.C. and WMAR Baltimore.

Parquet-Taylor holds a bachelor’s degree in communications arts and sciences from Michigan State University.
