Chad Nelson

Chad Nelson is both the National Press Photographers Association Photographer of the Year, he is also NPPA’s Editor of the Year, the first person ever to win both in the same year. Chad is the Director of Photography at KARE 11 in Minneapolis. He started his career fresh out of college at WDAY in Fargo.

Chad often works with Boyd Huppert on the widely honored “Land of 10,000 Stories” series but also often turns daily deadline hard news stories as well.  He will be teaching our class how he captures “moments” that make stories memorable.
