D’Vera Cohn is a senior writer/editor focusing on immigration and demographics at Pew Research Center. She also manages the center’s research on the 2020 census. She had a 21-year career as a Washington Post reporter, including coverage of the 1990 and 2000 censuses, before joining the center in 2007. She created the center’s @allthingscensus Twitter feed, tracked the 2010 census for the center website and has since written numerous articles about census-taking and census data. She has presented to national journalism conferences about how reporters can use demographic data in their work. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Bryn Mawr College, later studying policy and statistics as a Nieman Fellow.
