Ebele Oputa

Ebele Oputa is a certified project manager and researcher who has provided strategic, technical and programmatic oversight as well as editorial support for fact-checking programs in 3 West African countries. Programmatic areas revolved around protecting democratic institutions from the threat of disinformation and advocating for stronger internet platform governance.

She holds a Master of Laws degree with Distinction in International Trade and Commercial Law from Durham University. She is currently working for a FoodTech company to implement data privacy and information security policies while conducting independent research projects on information disorder in Africa.

Some days, she assesses organizations’ applications to the International Fact-checking Network. Other days she unwinds and explores the world through travel.
