Jake Kreinberg

Senior Product Manager, The Associated Press

Group:

Jake Kreinberg’s career started as a sports reporter based in Missouri, covering Big 12 and SEC football and basketball for The Associated Press. His stories would be delivered to media clients around the country, with recaps of top games also transmitted to newsrooms internationally. He was also an assistant city editor for the local newspaper, the Columbia Missourian, where he would coordinate breaking news coverage and edit copy from a staff of 30 reporters. This was also his entry point into using Google Analytics to determine trending storylines popular with audiences and create strategies for how to increase the Missourian’s reach and engagement. After a few years in these roles, he joined AP’s marketing team full-time, leading efforts to launch and maintain the company’s first corporate marketing blog and foray into content marketing. He developed articles, videos, e-books and white papers about The AP’s products and services, and used lead generation and email automation to influence millions of dollars in sales. Ultimately, Jake wanted to be closer to AP’s operations and play an active role in serving its customers, so he transferred to the product team, where today he leads a cross-functional team to develop the company’s product and editorial strategy for AP’s 2,500 newspaper, television and radio members.
