Junior, University of Maryland
Madeline Herron is a third-year student at the Philip Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland majoring in broadcast journalism and minoring in Spanish. She is a writer for The Diamondback, UMD’s independent student-run newspaper that covers both local and campus-wide news daily. In her free time, she plays on UMD’s club lacrosse team and is active in her sorority, Alpha Xi Delta, and is a member of the executive board of both. With a passion for broadcast journalism and videography, she hopes to one day be a news anchor for a major news outlet. She has independently produced over 50 news packages, and hopes to create more in the future with the goal of sharing the stories of those who lack a voice in the media.
