Pamela Brown

Anchor and Senior Washington Correspondent, CNN

Newsroom anchor and senior Washington correspondent Pamela Brown joined CNN in 2013. She currently anchors the weekend primetime edition of CNN Newsroom based in Washington, DC. Most recently, Brown covered President Donald Trump and his administration for all of the network’s programs and platforms as the senior White House correspondent. Brown’s reporting on the Trump administration has covered key moments such as two impeachment proceedings, the Covid pandemic, the controversial travel ban and child separation policies, missile strikes in Syria and the firing of FBI Director James Comey.

Brown previously served as the network’s Justice and Supreme Court correspondent covering law enforcement, national security and the U.S. Supreme Court. Since joining the network, Brown has traveled the world reporting on several breaking news stories, including in France, Denmark, Germany, Ireland and Japan.

Brown began her career at ABC7/WJLA-TV and NewsChannel8 in Washington D.C., where she became a Sunday evening anchor and an Emmy®-nominated special projects reporter covering several national and international stories. Brown was one of the few local journalists to travel to earthquake-ravaged Haiti in January 2010 and later returned on her own to report on the rebuilding process in Port-au-Prince and the surrounding areas.

She grew up in Lexington, Ky. and holds a B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in broadcast journalism.
