Served as the top news executive of Pennsylvania’s largest newsroom, The Philadelphia Inquirer, for nearly 10 years. Established track record of cultivating Pulitzer Prize-quality journalism while directing The Philadelphia Inquirer’s largest newsroom reorganization effort in its 190-year history, which included the merger of three newsrooms.

In 2019, co-founded Spotlight PA, an independent, grant-funded newsroom now providing high-impact journalism to more than 45 newsrooms in communities across Pennsylvania.

During his tenure, the Inquirer was awarded the 2012 Pulitzer Prize Gold Medal for Public Service and won the Pulitzer for Criticism in 2014. The Inquirer was a Pulitzer finalist in 2019 (Local Reporting) and 2017 (Commentary). The paper won its first Emmy Awards in 2019. In recent years, the Inquirer sports staff has been named one of America’s Top 10 (print and digital) performers by the Associated Press Sports Editors.
