For 'This American Life' takeover, Google 'didn't want to overshadow the audio'

Friday's Google "doodle" features candy hearts that, when clicked, play a short "This American Life" story accompanied by illustrations. In a video, Google's Jennifer Hom, the lead on the project, talks about how the takeover took shape.

"For this one, it's pretty conservative on the interactive side, because we didn't want to overshadow the audio," Hom says in the video.
