AP veteran Marty Anderson gives $1.75M to Indiana University j-school

It's the school's largest gift ever. Marty Anderson spent 33 years reporting news from Indiana for the Associated Press. "My real thought was I'd like to be a foreign correspondent," he says. "Well, I never got any farther away in journalism than Indiana."

    From 1999 to 2011, Jim Romenesko maintained the Romenesko page for the Poynter Institute, a Florida-based non-profit school for journalists. Poynter hired him in August of 1999, after seeing his MediaGossip.com, a hobby site he started in May of 1999.
