Arizona Republic scolds officials on immigration in rare front page editorial

Associated Press | Arizona Republic
Republic editorial writer Doug MacEachern says the paper has put editorials on the front page over the years but Sunday's was the first time one filled the entire page. "It's of sufficient importance that we thought it required something very over-the-top to grab people's attention," he says. The editorial says the the federal government is abdicating its duty on the border and Arizona politicians are pandering to public fear. "The result is a state law that intimidates Latinos while doing nothing to curb illegal immigration."
