The Atavist looks for new ways to present long-form content for the digital age

Since its January launch, The Atavist has published three long pieces that are native to the tablet in concept and execution, reports David Carr. Writers are paid a fee to cover reporting expenses and then split revenue with The Atavist.

    From 1999 to 2011, Jim Romenesko maintained the Romenesko page for the Poynter Institute, a Florida-based non-profit school for journalists. Poynter hired him in August of 1999, after seeing his, a hobby site he started in May of 1999.
