Former Times managing editor Gerald Boyd writes in his book that ex-executive editor Howell Raines found a "string of e-mails" between Jayson Blair and former New York Observer "Off The Record" columnist, Sridhar Pappu. He says Blair was "just one of many sources I would speak to" at the Times on regular basis. || New York Observer in 2003: Raines tells Pappu that "the last thing we want to do is demonize Jayson Blair."
