Census Bureau halts early release of data after two embargo breaches

Romenesko Misc.
The Census Bureau says it's had two "major breaches" of its embargo news release policy in recent days, and "will temporarily suspend prerelease access to data products." The editor who sent the notice to Romenesko writes: "The census embargo policy has been great, allowing reporters some time to develop data and stories rather than rushing in. It would be terrible if these breaches of embargo bring an end to the system."
