Columbia Journalism Review launches News Frontier Database

Columbia Journalism Review

CJR describes its News Frontier Database as "a tool for those who study or pursue online journalism, a window into that world for the uninitiated, and, like any journalistic product, a means by which to shed light on an important topic." The editors say they plan to build the NFDB into the most comprehensive resource of its kind.

    From 1999 to 2011, Jim Romenesko maintained the Romenesko page for the Poynter Institute, a Florida-based non-profit school for journalists. Poynter hired him in August of 1999, after seeing his MediaGossip.com, a hobby site he started in May of 1999.
